Bringing Our New Center to Life
Toward the end of 2019, Lighthouse took a bold but necessary step forward with the purchase of a building in the heart of Hawthorne on Lafayette Ave, right across from the movie theater. This new facility will serve as a main headquarters and expanded ministry location, increasing our capacity for serving families, saving and changing lives.
Construction work at the Hawthorne building began in January 2020, and continued at a good pace despite the challenges of COVID-19 and social distancing. We reached a significant milestone in this project on December 14, 2020 when we began providing client services at this new facility. Learn more about this project here.
Virtual Baby Basics Drive
Life decisions need life support! That’s why Lighthouse is committed to equipping parents facing unexpected pregnancies with the resources needed to care for their newborns. We do that through PREP – our Parenting Readiness & Enrichment Program. Last year, Lighthouse distributed over 105,000 diapers free of charge through PREP. We’re continuing to provide this critical aid using drive-through distributions. We can’t provide this valuable life support without your generosity.
The baby basics needed are:
- Diapers sizes newborn and 3-6
- Wipes (individual packs of about 100 wipes are preferred)
- Formula (Enfamil Infant or Gentlease)
- New baby essentials including baby clothes (6-9 months), pacifiers, bottles, teethers, board books, rattles, bibs, onesies, socks, comb/brush sets, diaper ointment, etc.
Shop online (Amazon, Walmart, Jet.com) and have your diapers shipped directly to our Wayne Center (Lighthouse PRC, 2025 Hamburg Tpke, Suite L, Wayne, NJ 07470). And don’t forget to set Lighthouse PRC as your Amazon Smile Charity!

Digital Baby Bottle Boomerang
The Baby Bottle Boomerang is a practical, easy way for you to provide valuable life support to parents in need, and to spread the word about Lighthouse’s free services. Typically, from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day, Lighthouse distributes thousands of empty baby bottles to churches, schools and individuals, to be returned filled with checks, cash and change. As Lighthouse’s second largest annual fundraiser, we rely on this event to provide the essential funds to provide our services throughout the year. Because of the pandemic this year, this event will look different!
We still have actual baby bottles available to those who weren’t able to join us in the spring, but would like to participate for Sanctity of Life Month in January!

Join our Volunteer Team
Now is a great time to start the process to become a Peer Counselor or Medical Volunteer at Lighthouse! Women and men are needed to serve new parents, and to come alongside those in pregnancy-related crisis on a weekly basis. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed. Minimum age is 18 and the minimum volunteer commitment is normally one year, due to the extensive training commitment.
